Ernest A. Paul
1918 - 2003

NORTHAMPTON, MA - Ernest A. Paul, 84, of 40 Trumbull Rd., died Thursday,
March 6, 2003 in Northampton. Born in Montreal, Canada Sept. 4, 1918, he was
the son of the late Bonaventure and Aurise (Paul-Hus) Paul-Hus. He was
educated in Canada and moved to Northampton 76 years ago. He was the owner
and operator of Ernie's Barber Shop in Northampton for 66 years. He was a
communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Northampton. He enjoyed watching his
grandchildren's sporting events, and talking politics and current affairs
with his barber shop patrons. He was also proud of his Canadian heritage. He
is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Mary Rose (Murphy) Paul; 2 sons,
Ernest A. Paul of Palo Alto, CA and Adrian Paul of Chicago, IL; 4 daughters,
M. Rose Paul of Plainfield, VT, Claire A. Premo of Florence, Angeline A. Paul
of Oakland, CA, and Peggy A. Paul of Northampton; a sister, Angeline A.
Rivist of Dania, FL; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The
funeral will be held Monday morning, March 10, 2003 at 9 a.m. from the Ahearn
Funeral Home in Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred
Heart Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in
Northampton. Calling hours are Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Memorial donations may be
made to the Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
