Lillian B. (Laferriere) Arpin

LOWELL - Lillian B. (Marquis) (Laferriere) Arpin, 82, a lifelong resident of
Lowell, died unexpectedly Monday, April 14, at Saints Memorial Medical
Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Ludivic Laferriere and the
late Lionel Arpin.
She was born in Dracut on Aug. 16, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph and
Ozelina (Paquin) Marquis. She resided in the Pawtucketville section of
Lowell for many years, and was a communicant of St. Rita's Church.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Arpin was employed as a solderer and assembler
with Sanders-Harris in Nashua.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Lowell and enjoyed playing
bingo, crocheting, art and traveling.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Donald M. and Henriette
(Duhamel) Laferriere of Lowell, and Raymond J. and Gail (Lightfoot) (Bence)
Laferriere of Waterford, Conn.; a sister and her husband, Therese and Andre
Forest of Dracut; 12 grandchildren, Henri, Maurice, Denise, Ronald, Laurie,
Marc, Donna, Wanda, Linda, Brenda, Lorraine, and Joan; a stepgrandson,
Ronald Bence; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and
many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of Paul Laferriere, who died in May 2000 and sister
of the late Emile and Leo Marquis, Eva Lemieux, Loretta Cloutier, Claire
Lussier, Jeanette Tessier, Cecile Martel, Alfred Marquis, Simone Alpin,
Doris Ward, and Herve Marquis.
