Gerard Desilets
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Gerard "Jerry" Desilets, 82, of 151 Portland St.,
died Wednesday morning, July 9, 2003, at Varney Crossing Nursing Home.
He was born in St. Helene, Canada, on Oct. 14, 1920, a son of Freddy and
Aurore Lavigne Desilets.
Mr. Desilets is survived by his wife, Theresa "Terri" Roux Desilets of South
Berwick; one son, Gerry Desilets of South Berwick and his wife, Vicki; one
daughter, Rachel Desilets of Plainfield, Vt., and her partner, Paulette
Petelle; one brother, George Desilets of Rochester; two sisters, Isabelle
Plante of Kennebunk and Theresa Matthews of Florida; three grandchildren,
Jennifer Lambert, Chad Desilets and Aimee Lambert; several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Paul; and three sisters, Georgette,
Estelle and Cecile.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the Pacific Theatre during
World War II.
He also owned and operated Jerry's Superette in South Berwick for many years
and Guay's Hide Away Take-out at Mousam Lake.

A Mass has been scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Church,
South Berwick. Interment, at a later date, will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery,
Sanford.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the
South Berwick Senior Center, Norton Street, South Berwick, ME 03908.
