Emma Dufour
EXETER - Emma T. Dufour, 98, of 22 Hayes Park, died Wednesday, March 10,
2004, at Sunbridge of Exeter.
A lifelong resident, she was born here on Aug. 5, 1905, the daughter of
Joseph and Marie E. (Tremblay) Tardiff.
She attended the Robinson Female Seminary. She worked for many years as a
stitcher for the former Wise Shoe Co. of Exeter. Previous to Wise Shoe, she
worked for the Alrose Shoe Co. and was a waitress at the former Graduate
House, which was located where the Inn of Exeter is today.
She, along with her husband, owned and operated the Lincoln House Apartments
and several rental properties in Exeter.
She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, and a member of the
French Club.
She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Dufour.
Family members include her son, George J. Dufour and his wife, Judy, of
Exeter; three grandchildren, Karen L. Dufour of Portsmouth, William C.
Dufour and his wife, Molly, of New Boston, and Brenda L. Dufour of Virginia.
She was predeceased by her grandson, George J. Dufour Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, Front
Street, Exeter, on Friday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully
invited and may call at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter,
today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Private burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
