Hi Larry ....
The 1st and sole DARDENNE in New France (Canada) was appareently Pierre
DARDENNE or DARDAINE or D'ARDEYNE. He was the son of Francois, a farmer, & Marie
PETIT, of Villeneuve-la-Comtess, St.Jean d'Angely, Saintes, Saintonge, France.
Pierre was buried 26 Nov. 1687, at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal, 80 years
of age. So he was born about 1607 in France.
He married 22 June 1637 at Notre Dame-de-Cogne, LaRochelle, Aunis, France, to
Gillette CHAIGNE, daughter of Pierre, a farmer, & Louise CHENU, of
Dompierre-sur-Mer, Aunis, France.
Pierre & Gillette had 3 children:
Marie who married Jacques BEAUCHAMP, in 1656 at Notre Dame, LaRochelle.
Pierre who was baptised in 1650 at Notre Dame, LaRochelle and who died in
Montreal and was buriied there in 30 Apr. 1671.
That left Remi to carry on the family line.
Remi was born about 1639 in France and came to new France with his parents
and brother Pierre. Remi married 12 Nov. 1668, Notre Dame, Montreal, to
Francoise BARBERY, daughter of Rollin, master Gardener & Florist, & Michelle MINGROT
or NEGERESSE, of St.Sulpice, St.Germain, Paris, France.
Remi died in Montreal and was buried there 3 Apr. 1710. Francoise also died
in Montreal and was buried there 17 Feb. 1725. They had 10 children.
Francoise, Pierre, Gilbert, Francoise, Marie-Anne, Marie-Angelique, Marguerite,
Jacques, Marie-Catherine & Toussaint, who was the only one to carry on the family
line.
Francoise, Marie-Angelique, Marguerite & Marie-Catherine all married.
Pierre, Marie-Anne,
Francoise #1, & Jacques all died young. Gilbert is noted as living in
Louisiana in 1706.
Toussaint was baptised in Montreal 23 Jan. 1671. He married 17 Dec. 1715,
Notre Dame, Montreal, Marie-Jeanne MEZERAY, daughter of Jean & Marie-Madeleine
MASSE.
In 1702 Toussaint was hired to trap furs out West. In 1716 he hired others
to trap.
Toussaint & Marie-Jeanne had 2 sons, Toussaint born 1717 & Louis born 1718
That's all I could find. All per Jette & Tanguay.
