Hello Carl, Congratulations on your persistence...I also have Berard
Lepine connected back to Pierre Berard Lepine m. Isabelle
Guillerman...their son was Gabriel Berard Lepine b. 1644, m. Genevieve
Ayotte b. 1658...next was Pierre Berard Lepine m. Marie-Jeanne Dery, 2nd
wife was Marie Catherine Joly-LaForest...their son was Francois Berard
Lepine m. Marie Madeleine Angelique Moreau dit Francoeur b. 1736...their
son [5th generation] was Joseph Berard dit Lepine Sr. m. Marguerite
Berthe dit Bellville, 6th gen- Joseph Berard Lepine 1796-1880 m. Alnora
Belill [Honora Germaine Belisle] 1791-1880, 7th gen Louis Lapine 1824-
m. Amelia [Emilie] Rondo [Rondeau] 1824...and another son Joseph Leonin
Berard LaPine m. a sister, Elizabeth [Louisa] Rondeau 1828-
10/18/1929... She died in Fond du Lac WI. My family descends from this
Joseph...whose family lived in Fond du Lac WI...they had 12 children, my
family descends from 6th child, Thomas Lepine 1860-1940 m. Josephine
Brunett in 1910...then their first child Avila Lepine m Grace BRINDLEY
1844-1974 and had 2 children, Doris and Margarite...

According to the Obit for Louise Rondeau Lepine, relatives came from
Nakoosa WI [Jesse Lepine] and Frank Lepine [Escanaba MI] as well as
various others...such as Mrs. Frank Sauve from Niagara WI and Josephine
Lepine from Minneapolis MN.

Doris Lepine, dau of Avila Lepine and Grace Brindley [1911- 2000] died
in Fond du Lac WI. She always wore her very dark black hair at waist
length but tied up in a bun...and always claimed to have direct Native
American Heritage...but never knew where the possible link could have
been...she had very definite Native American features and was proud of
this heritage...
If anyone has further info on where this Native Heritage may have
merged with the Lepine family, please let me know...tg

Also, it seems like there is much work ahead in order to make possible
connections with all the various Berard Lepines...Vt, WI, ME, MI, MN
etc...especially with some of the families with 10-14 children...Has
there ever been a "national" Lepine Gathering?

This basic info was provided by A.J. Pawlowski...
