Subject: [Q-R] Non Catholic marriages, Question
Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2006 23:01:42 EDT

Hi

If a Catholic and a non Catholic or two Protestants first married in a
Protestant or other church, and then decided to have there marriage "blessed" in a
Catholic Church, would it appear in the church records of the Catholic Church
as a new marriage?

I think the word is "validated" or "blessed" in a Catholic Church.

Would this be without a notation in the record that there was a previous
ceremony in a church of another denomination?

Regards

Alf, Ont.
