Madeleine gave birth to a son on June 10 who was baptized provisionally at
the home, and baptized under condition at church on Jul 21 and died on Aug
22 the following month.
I would say that Madeleine died from complications from childbirth.

Hi Dolly and all,

Madeleine SAINDON was not exhumed then reburied. She was burried but
once, but her grave was blessed one month later. Here is what the act
of burial translates to:

"In the year 1793, on the 24th of the month of July, we the undersigned
parish priest of L'Isle Verte and other places, have blessed with all
the ordinary ceremonies for burials, the grave where was entered, in the
adult cemetery of this parish, the body of Magdeleine Saindon, wife of
Binjamin Levasseur from this parish, deceased on the 26th of last month,
at the age of 36, having only received the sacrament of Penitence and
interred the next day by Louis Côté, church warden (bedeau), Paul Dion
(?), Gabriel Côté, and others who have also witnessed the benediction...."

Basically, the day before Magdeleine died, she had gone to confession
and received the sacrament of Penitence. The next day, she was dead her
corpse was burried by Louis Côté, the "bedeau", in the adult cemetery of
the parish without any further ado. Presumably, Mr. Paquet, the parish
priest, was not around to do a proper burial. A month later, he blessed
the burial site in a proper fashion, in front of the same witnesses who
had attended the burial, one month earlier.

Hope this clears it up a bit for ya.

Cheers!

Mona
