Hi Listers,

Am trying to find information on this family. Is there anyone out there who
could provide a little help. I have not been able to find much during my
own research, and could really use a little help. This is not for me, it is
for a friend of mine. I have been able to find a few parish records from
the Church of England... they were protestants, but not much else.

Thank you in advance to anyone who responds to my request for assistance.

==================

Natalie's Grandfather: Joseph Johnston
Joseph's Parents: Mathew Johnston / Mary McCombs
Joseph's info: b.31 July 1854 Bourg Louis, Canada, m. 8 June1892
Framingham. Mass., d. 19Jan. 1946 Walnut Creek, CA.

Mathew Johnston immigrated with his wife, Mary, to Canada from Glasgow,
Scotland.
1. When did they arrive in Canada?
2. Did they die in Bourg Louis? If so, when did they die and where are they
buried?
3. What was the name of the ship they arrived on?
4. Is there a passenger manifest?
5. Is there any immigration information on them?

Joseph Johnston: born in Bourg Louis in the County of Port Nuef in the
Province of Quebec, Canada
There were 6 boys born to Mathew & Mary, my grandfather was next to the
youngest.
The youngest named Andrew. The others I think were Thomas & John, & 2 died
from Scarlett Fever when young.
He became naturalized American citizen at Framingham, Mass. 17th Feb 1897.

Whatever information you can find out about the Johnstons and the McCombs
will be more than appreciated.
