Subject: [Q-R] Euphrasie-Madeleine Nicolet
I am looking for information about Euphrasie-Madeleine Nicolet, who married
Jean Leblanc on 21 November 1643 at Notre-Dame-de-Québec. The marriage
record does not give her parents names, and neither does her death record,
30 September 1689, L'Hotel-Dieu. I haven't been able to find her baptismal
record. Her entry in Tanguay's dictionary does not give her parents names,
but says that she originates in Cherbourg.
Online sources say that she is the natural child of Jean Nicolet and a
woman of the Nippissing tribe, but I can find no verification of that in the
records I've looked at.
Could someone who has access to Jette, tell me what he has to say about
her origin? or the PRDH?
Thank you, Robin
