The Southington Citizen on 11/28/2008

Roger Gagnon, 67, of Plantsville, died Nov. 17, 2008 with his supportive
family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mildred (Stuckey)
Gagnon,
much loved father to Jacques Gagnon (Tricia) and Amy Lasek (Matthew) and
his most honored role was that of Pepere to Emily and Jacob Lasek and
Olivia Gagnon.
He was born on June 9, 1941 in Montmagny, Quebec, Canada to Rita (Morin)
and Alphonse Gagnon and was one of ten children. He worked for the John
Errichetti Company, Creative Management Inc., in Southington and
Waterbury
for more than 40 years, retiring in 2007.
He found solace and relaxation at his log cabin in New Hampshire. The
cabin
houses many wonderful memories enjoyed with family and friends. This home
away from home is a monument to his character, which was one of strength,
commitment and craftsmanship.
During the summer months, he spent many years enjoying his love of the
sea.
He enjoyed numerous trips to Block Island, a place to which he will
always
be spiritually connected. He was a "lifetime" member of the Meriden Power
Squadron of which he was commander in 1987.
He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Helene Metayer (Andre) of
St. Ismier, France; Rachel Perreault (Donald) of Kensington; Marguerite
Lagasse of Southington; Doris Bruyere of Repentigny, Quebec, Canada;
Maurice Gagnon (Nicole) of Port Cartier, Quebec, Canada; and Philo Gagnon
of Quebec, Canada; along with several nieces and nephews in Connecticut
and
Canada. He was predeceased by brothers, Albert and Louis, and a sister,
Claire.
Services Nov. 19, 2008 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home.
