Hi Renee,

You are quite right about your comments.

The original document (1731) states that Charles Babin is the son of Pierre
Babin and Madeleine Richaume...which is obviously a mistake. So PRDH is
reporting it the way the document state it!

But for my records, Charles Babin is born out of wedlock, not being the son
of Pierre Babin and was married in Boucherville on Jan. 8th, 1731 (at the
age of 22). His brother Pierre and Louis and his sister Madeleine were at
the wedding.

I would like to thanks all of you who took the time to answer my request. I
was able to correct my database accordingly.

It doesn't say he was present only that he's a M for male. P for "present"
is not next to his name.

03 PIERRE BABIN -- -- M
---------------------------------------
04 MADELEINE RICHAUME Mother of 01 -- -- P F she was "P"resent and a
"F"emale.
Good luck

Hi renee and all,

How interesting your info is. Specially coming from the PRDH.

If I understand correctly, PRDH state that Pierre Babin WAS present at the
wedding....in 1731.

On the other hand, Michel Langlois (in his dictionnaire biographique des
ancetres Quebecois...thank you Suzanne) is stating that Pierre Babin went
for personal business in France (circa 1701) and is not knowned as been back
to the Nouvelle-France...!

One can also assume that the Pierre stated by PRDH at the wedding in 1731,
could be Jacques dit Pierre, oldest son of Pierre Babin and Marie Richaume
born in 1692 and married to Madeleine Turpin in 1723 in Boucherville.

So I think these conflicting informations leave me with no option then to
find a copy of the second register for the parish of Boucherville (including
year 1731), so I can read the wedding statement.

Cheers

Florent de Napierville

The mother of the groom gave her consent.
Pierre Babin is said to be the father of the groom but the reconstitution of
the families indicates to us that it's not so (Renee)
