Hello,

In regard to requesting help for research in Lowell, MA (US), I just wanted to remind researchers that you can search the archives of the Lists. You should search for both your surnames and place-names to see if anyone has already mentioned them. And, it doesn't matter whether the original posting was 10 yrs. ago; the researcher might still be on-line. (I've been on the Lists for over 8 yrs.)

You can find all the Lists by going to the home-page www.rootsweb.com and then either use the "Find a List" feature or go the List Index. And, don't forget all the "Other" and "Misc." categories in the Index. And, there is a fairly new feature called, "Archives Search," which searches all Lists for your ancestor's name.

For Lowell, MA, you should search the genmassachusetts List or the MAMiddle List. And, don't forget all the Boards. Many researchers don't like to participate on the Lists, so their information is in the Boards. And, not all Boards are gatewayed to the corresponding List, so you need to check both.

For the Province of Quebec, I research my KERR and HENDERSON ancestors in Argenteuil Co. and then Compton Co. (I started up a List for the Laurentian Mountains a few years ago.) (And, a long time ago the KIDDER name was discussed. My ancestor was in New Brunswick, but another researcher and I are interested in all KIDDER's descended from the family in 1655 Billerica, MA (US). I've probably posted about other surnames when helping others with their ancestors, like the family of my grandfather's 3rd wife with married name, JARRY.

Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)
