Thanks for posting this Brandt. It looks like all 4 parts are airing
Sunday from 8:00 to 12:00 but only on TVO. There's also a half hour show
at 7:30 on the story of York, from 1793 when it was established to 1834
when it regained the name Toronto - paintings, engravings and drawings
depict the story.

I have documentation gathered from the National & Ontario Archives and
also Detroit of damages claims and land transactions from 1813 to 1824 for
my 3rd great grandfather John GENTLE who was a merchant both in Sandwich
(Windsor) and Detroit. Evidently both the Americans and the British had to
pay him for losses of his horse, trunks of fine cloth and a bateaux. He
was eventually given two town lots and 250 pounds. Orginally from
Scotland, he had to sign Allegiance to first one side and then the other
in order to receive the grants. He eventually lost his land in Sandwich
because he wouldn't swear to be a British subject again. However, he
stayed in Upper Canada till his death in 1846 in Markham.

Fascinating what documents remain from a turbulent part of our history.
I'm looking forward to hearing the real history :-) of the battles.
