It is not only in MI. It is just 15 miles by car & about five miles across
the
Mackinac Bridge from me. It is the lowest part of the Upper Peninsula, just
across from Mackinaw City, MI. It was discovered in the 1660's.

I live in Cheboygan, MI. St-Ignace is a big Resort area like Mackinaw City
& Mackinac Island just across from it. Father Marquette discovered thi area.
