Subject: {not a subscriber} Re: [QUEBEC] Rocheleau
I am a 9th generation descendent of Vivien Rochereau the name changed to
Rocheleau during the 4th generation in my line. Around the 1850's my
Rocheleau's were existence farmers Northeast of Montreal in the Parish of
St. Gabriel de Brandon. The name changed with the next generation when
several Rocheleau, Coutu, and Gouine family member's immigrated to
Cheboygen, in the northern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan during
the height of the lumber boom but they mostly continued to be farmers.
Incidentally, Mr. Lesperance their little community outside of Cheboygan
became Aloha Township due to a resident who was a sailor and saw a
magnificent sunset over their Mullett Lake which reminded him of Hawaii.,
Sincerely, Jayne A. Hebert
