I am searching for information on this man, who is my Grandfather. He was born 17 August 1864 in Inverness, Megantic County, Quebec, Canada. Immigrated to the United States sometime before 1895. Married Ella May Molleson of Plainfield, New Jersey. They had 12 children, the first was a daughter, my Aunt Grace Elizabeth Canning. My Father, Earl Mortimer Canning, was their 9th child.

I have recently checked the 1881 Census for Quebec and found a Richard Canning listed, born in Ireland, a farmer, 45 years old, member of the Church of England. I think that since he has the same first name as my Grandfather's middle name that there might be a connection.

Any information that anyone has on this family, please e-mail me. My Father would never talk about his parents since they passed away long before I was born. I have been trying to find any remaining relatives, no matter how distant, for most of my life, without very much success.

Again, THANK YOU!
