Subject: Post-1901 Census -- Let's Check the Scoreboards!!!
Date: Wed, 8 Sep 2004 00:36:20 -0400

To all:-

Labour Day and many vacations have passed, and for some,
children are back at school, giving all a few more minutes
for personal work and research.

It would be great if we could find the 1911 (or later) census
on Automated Genealogy so we are asking for any assistance.

1. Check the scoreboards of both Senators and Members of Parliament
http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Index6.htm
and for Senators
http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Senscore1.htm

2. Check the symbols -- we hope those who have the GOLD
symbol still agree. GREEN means the person is undecided
or else a secretary answered; BLUE ? means the person
could not bother answering or is a new Member of
Parliament. At present we only have one RED X in Ontario
which will remain unless the MP replies personally.

3. E-mails are easy to do -- but are not always successful -- too
easy for a secretary to delete. LETTERS, either typed or
written by hand, are more acceptable. Do NOT use white
paper -- even hot pink might be more noticeable -- and as
you have already paid the postage (in Canada) , use large
envelopes -- FREE!!!!

4. Your letter could contain genetically inherited diseases facts,
lost family members. The questions and other data has been
placed on the census pages for your usage -- but try putting it
in your own words. [It is alright if ONE person mails to all 308
MPs with the same letter, but we should vary the wording, or
it becomes a government form letter].

5. House of Commons address:
NAME, House of Commons, Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6
Senate address:
NAME, Senate of Canada, Ottawa, ON K1A 0A4
Several others should receive letters, but wording would
definitely be different -- e.g. Dr. Fellegi, etc.

6. Copies of letters to politicians are requested for the scoreboards,
FORWARD to Gordon Watts at
Should any reply be received, this is also requested.

7. Should any reader wish to become active and learn more, please
contact me -- we have our own mail list, committee and Friends
list as we attempt to keep postings off the regular lists as much
as possible.

8. Petitions are needed -- street names not needed, only NAME, city,
province/state and postal code/zip code. Download from
http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/

Looking forward to many copies of postings -- try using BCC to
let us know -- then the politician will not know we received a copy.
