I'm looking for histories of French Canadians in upstate New York,
specifically Clinton County. Like around Plattsburg.

unusual. Too rural? Even Warren County NY has histories. Even the
Clinton County Historical Society web site doesn't hint at any.

I'm trying to make sense of some distinctively odd behavior of my mother in
law's Clinton County ancestors.
