Hello Everyone...hope you all had a nice summer.
I called the Methodist Regional Office in Columbia, S.C. concerning records
for Boykin Methodist Church in Marlboro Co. Most of the archive records are
kept at Wofford College in Greenville, S.C., and I talked to Phillip Stone.
These records at Wofford are of church business and administration papers.
I believe he said births, baptismal, and records of that nature are the
responsibility of the local church and during the course of time those
records are either lost, misplaced, or fall into the hands of private owners
for "safe keeping". Another source he mentioned was, St. James(?) Methodist
Church in Charlestown. I have not taken the time to call them as of yet.
That's all for and just to let all know that I am still "kicking".
By the way.....Glenn has your partner had her baby yet...if so
congratulations!
