Hi, I'm Terry,
My third great-grandfather was James Henry Quillen (b. 17 Jan 1852 Meigs
Co, OH d. 8 Apr 1946 Meigs Co, OH). His father was Uriah (1824-1902) -
born and raised in Meigs Co. (Syracuse) OH. Uriah's father was is
believed to be Amos, who was born in 1786 Maryland, married in Jefferson
Co. OH, and died in Meigs Co. OH. Amos was the son of Daniel Quillen who
was born in 1755 Maryland and died aft 1830 in Harrison Co., OH. Daniel
is the best link I have to the Maryland branch of the Quillen family -
his father was Thomas (b. 1710 Maryland). My biggest mystery I'm working
on in my Quillen research is: Where did James H. and Margaret Biggins
Quillen settle in West Virginia after their 1880 marriage? Margaret died
in 1889 shortly after having their third child - and James moved back to
Meigs Co., OH. Their oldest daughter, Josephine S. Quillen Darlington,
was my great-grandmother.
