I am trying to find the connection between the James Quarles in the subject
line and the rest of the Quarles line. I feel fairly certain that this James
Quarles was the father of two rather prominent Virginia brothers: (1) Major
Isaac Quarles (1754/5 - 24 Jan 1817) of "Woodberry", King William County, VA,
who married Elizabeth Southerland (16 Feb 1758 - 19 Jun 1810) and (2) Captain
William Henry Quarles (abt 1740 - 17 Sep 1810) of "Paradise", Essex County,
VA. It seems probable that James had more than two children, but they have
not yet surfaced (pun intended).
If anyone has a clue, or better yet, a source, to indicate the relationship
between this James and his contemporaries, I will appreciate your input.
