ATTACHMENTS:
Any message with an attachment WILL NOT go to
the list. If you need to send a file or a pic, please send it by
private email, and always ask your recipient first! And, if
possible, please turn off any fancy formatting (MIME) for your
mailing program. Thanks!
=======================================================
REPLYING TO MESSAGES:
In the interest of brevity, if you use the "reply" option on your
mailer, PLEASE delete the parts of the original message that are
unnecessary to your reply. Keep only that part to which you are
replying. And be sure to edit the SUBJECT LINE of your reply,
changing it when necessary. Sometimes the conversations end up in a
totally different place
than where they started, and folks who only scan the subject lines
might miss an important post! Thanks!

NOTES GATEWAYED TO OUR LIST FROM THE ROOTSWEB SURNAME BOARD:

Please be aware that all notes posted to the Rabb surname board will
be gatewayed to our Rabb-L. When a note filters through to our list,
please be aware that it may have not been posted by a member of our
list, so they will not see any responses that are sent to the list.
Please click on the link in the gatewayed message and post your reply
on the surname board. An example of a gatewayed message is as
follows:

Subject: [RABB-L] Robert Rabb Fairfield SC
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.

Surnames: Rabb/Goree/King/Tait/Kimbell
Classification: Query

Message Board URL:

http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QdBBAEB/260

Message Board Post:

I am descended from Robert Rabb via Martha Rabb & James Lyles Goree;
John Rabb Goree/Sarah Elizabeth King; Narcissa Goree/Felix Tait;
Felix Tait/Fannie Merriweather; Julia Tait Kimbell (my paternal
grandmother...southern blue blood if there ever was one :)))). I am
keenly interested on the Rabb history. Saw a reference to a
relocation of Rabbs from Bucks County PA to SC. I would love to know
more bio information on Robert and his wives....who he was, what he
did -- what his daughter Martha's life was like etc. Would also be
interested in knowing about any portraits of said folks. Would also
love to know what, if any connection this line of Rabb has with John
Wesley Rabb of CSA 4th Texas fame.

Thanks a bunch! Please feel free to e-mail me directly.
Stephanie

SENDING NOTES TO THE LIST:
When you send a query to the list, please be sure to include
locations, dates, etc. and make your SUBJECT LINE such that it
provides concise information about your query. This is helpful for
those who do not have time to read all notes thoroughly.
=======================================================
TWO-WAY CONVERSATIONS:
Try to keep conversations between two parties off the list, unless
y'all are trying to work out a genealogical problem. Remember, with
200 + subscribers, they are all reading your mail and eavesdropping
on your conversation!
=======================================================
JOKES, COMPUTER VIRUS INFO, ETC:
Please refrain from sending these types of items to the list. It is
important that we keep our discussions focused on the topics relating
to genealogical research.
