Thinking some more about your comment "..we think his mother died and his father remarried.."

I looked at deaths in Lewisham, and found these:

Deaths Mar 1927 RABBITT Laura A 49yrs Lewisham 1d/1428
Deaths Sep 1929 Rabbitt Edward J 29yrs Lewisham 1d/821

This confirms that his mother died, and also that his uncle Ernest also died young.

Given that she married and died in Lewisham, and there are no children apart from Alfred registered there, I suspect he didn't have any siblings. When you said "we are sure that Alfred George had siblings" - do you have anything to base that on? Perhaps they were only half-siblings from his father's re-marriage?

Looking for marriages give these two, that perhaps you already know about:
Marriages Sep 1914 RABBITT Daisy G & LAWRENCE Allburne E C - Lewisham 1d/2317
Marriages Sep 1922 RABBITT George T & HILL Edith L - Lewisham 1d/2332

No sign of a re-marriage for Alfred C RABBITT though, at least not in or near Lewisham. There is one in Newark (Alfred C RABBITT & HURTON), in 1932, but no way of knowing if its the right person. Perhaps he didn't actually marry the second lady?
