Hi All,
I am also looking for a Rafferty family.? My GGrandfather James Rafferty born Ireland 1842 married Bridget Malone born Ireland 1844. I don't know where in Ireland they were born and/or if they married in Ireland or USA.? The first I find them is 1870 Fed Census in Manhattan, NY married with daughter Mary Ann.? I find them again on 1880 Fed Census in Brooklyn, NY with the addition of daughter Teresa (my Grandmother).? My GGrandfathers occupation was a Cooper.? Family chatter says that Bridget died in childbirth between 1880 and 1890 and James remarried.? I don't know the name of the new wife.? James is listed in the NYC Directory for 1889 and 1890 as a Cooper.? I cannot find him at all after that.? My Aunt who had given me some information has now passed on so I have no one to ask anymore. Does anybody recognize this family?
?
Kind regards,
Irene
