Hello everyone! I posted a message to the group several months ago but as
yet have not found any connections. I'm not giving up!

I have been looking for my great-great Grandmother, Sarah Orena Ragan, for
years. (I'm not sure about the RAGAN spelling, but this is how it was
spelled in a letter from her grandson concerning his ancestors.)

Here's what I know:

Sarah Orena Ragan was born in Tennessee about 1823. She was married before
1848 to Thomas J. Cox (b. about 1820/22 - also in TN). He died 14 Nov 1901
in Dalton, GA.

She and Thomas had the following sons:

Thomas Jefferson Cox b. 2 June 1848 - d. 15 Dec 1928
Columbus Cox b July 1853 - d. 30 Oct 1901

I have located what I think could be this family in the 1850 Roane Co., TN
census but I'm really not sure if it's them. I do know they were in
Catoosa Co., GA in 1860 and in Whitfield Co., GA in 1870. Sarah died in
Whitfield Co.

Has anyone seen Sarah in any of their research?? She and Thomas are the
most elusive ancestors I have! I'm beginning to think they were brought by
aliens.

If anyone has a clue, however remote, I would be most appreciative.
