I actually found out a little more on my GGG grandmother Fredonia Riggan from
Wilson County, TN (1845-1886) daughter of Samuel H. Riggan and Martha Tarver
Riggan. I knew she had married a Sam Trippe but I had no record of it other
than death records (also family started sometimes using the e at the end of
Tripp and sometimes not). She was an orphan in 1858. She had two children
Henrietta and Tilmon. She pretty much fell off of the face of the Earth
between 1860-1870 except everyone knew of the children. She returned to
Wilson County TN in 1870 as a widow with two children. Family rumors vary
that she met her husband Sam either in Texas or Arkansas. Well out of the
blue, I rechecked LDS site and found her and Sam Trippe in Clark (don't know
if it was a city or a county) Arkansas under the spelling Ragin in 1861
getting married. I don't know why she was there then. Does anyone else have
any Ragin/Riggan relatives in Clark Arkansas at that time?
