Thanks to Nona Williams I was able to contact Homer C. Ragsdale Jr., about the
pedigree chart titled "Some Ragsdale's Went West, 1615-1940" that was
submitted to the LDS Family History Library. (film # 1597807 item 39) Mr.
Homer C. Ragsdale, Jr. told me that he was not the author of this chart. The
following is a copy of a letter addressed to the Director of the the Family
History Center that I received from Mr. Ragsdale.

Dear Director:

Several days ago a gentleman telephoned me concerning an article he received
from you, electronically,
bearing the title "Some Ragsdale's Went West, 1615-l940." He called me because
the item states the
author as Homer C Ragsdale, Jr. I am Homer C. Ragsdale, Jr., and I did not
write or contribute to this
piece. I have never, prior to this letter, sent you any type of
correspondence, written, electrical, or
otherwise. I have no idea how or why you attached my name to this article.

The forwarding format you used to send ths article lists the Film Area as
1597807, item 39. This item is a
copy of a lineage chart concerning Ragsdales. I am not the author.

The chart was prepared by Mrs. Jo Ferry of Cypress, California, who died
October 21, 1993. I know this to
be her work because she sent ne a copy of the enlargement. I have compared the
charts - they are identical.
Jo was devoted to research of the Ragsdale name and families. She was a
descendant of many Ragsdales.
Jo was very proud of her chart. She must be given the credit for her effort.
Please correct your records and
advise me when you have done so. I will appreciate you doing this.

I will guess that her husband, Lloyd Ferry, sent her records to you after her
death. I asked him to allow me
to use them or at least to review them; Lloyd didn't like my idea because he
wanted to send then to a records
depository of some sort. Apparently he sent them to you.
