Hi Michael

I hope you don't mind me replying. My name is Paula and Peter is my father. I have been researching the family history since about 1993 (on and off over the years). I have found anyone with the Sallnow surname is related in some way.

I have Henry and Augusta on my tree, they come from a large branch of the family.
Henry Sallnow married Augusta Marshall 23.03.1872. He gives his job as a cabinet maker. The 1881 census has them living at 62 Parnell Road, Bow, London. They had 7 childern that I know of including Lydia.
Henry seems to have followed in his fathers footsteps, as he gives his father as John Charles Sallnow who was also a cabinet maker.

John Charles was married Harriett Ann Martin. They had the following childern:
John Charles born abt 1836 married to Rebecca Mansfield
William born abt 1837
George born abt 1839
Sarah born abt 1841
Harriett born abt 1843
Jane born abt 1847
Henry born abt 1848
Joseph born 1853

I have descendents for some of the childern and have been in contact with some of them, particulary Hilda Kean who is descended from John Charles and Rebecca Mansfield. She has recently written a great book called London Stories in which there is a chapter on Sallnow family history!

To go back one step further John Charles (senior) is one of 9 childern. I am descended from one of his brothers - Lawrence Christian Sallnow. I have copies of certificates and census records and am happy to share them. Where do you fit into the tree? Do you have any photos of your ancestors - I have very few.

Best wishes
Paula
