Hi List,
Many thanks to all who responded to my previous email so I will give all the known info, similar to the 1901 Census with corrections.
Walter GIBBS was married to Louisa Nicholson but she was born a Boxall, don't know when her first husband died or if there were any children.
Walter and Louisa had twins girls, Marie Louise and Ella Beatrix, born on 9th.Nov.1900. Ella Beatrix died in the first quarter of 1901, before census taking. Marie Louise died 11 Feb. 1988.
When Marie Louise was about 10 months old she was placed into the care of another family and Walter visited regularly for about 2 years then suddenly he disappeared. Louisa never visited her child and nothing is presently known about her.
Re the 1901 Census, Walter was born in Newark, Notts. yet the typed version says Newark, Wilts. I could not find a Newark in Wilts so assumed that it was an error.
I question whether Walter's age is correct as the only clue we have is the 1901 Census.
I was hoping to find a record of his employment with the railway but I don't which railway ran through Islington in 1900. On Louise Marie birth certificate Walter's occupation is shown as the Station Master at Islington.
Again many thanks to all who replied to my first email.
