William Raney, Jr., mentioned in the Brunswick Court Orders was a brother of Jesse Raney and they were the children of William Rainey and Mary, possibly Morris. William Raney, Jr. was born about 1760 and seems to have died after 1840. There were several William Raneys over many generations and they are hard to sort. I'd like to know more about your William Raney who died in Northampton County, NC.
