I just checked the participants in the Lambert surname project who came in
via the National Geographic program, and every one of them initially had
the 12 marker test. So, I believe that is what you get. That costs $98
with FamilyTreeDNA for project participants, so they are the same
price. As I mentioned, that is a minimal test. Most people need at least
25 markers to make good distinctions between different lines.

If someone offers to be the administrator for a Rainwater surname program,
I will be happy to work with them to get it off the ground. I am
administrator for three surnames and have assisted with several others.
