I'm actively working on the same family tree in the Glascock/ Warren County area but on a slightly different limb. My gggrandfather was Eli Raley b. 1821 GA, d. abt 1863 while serving in Civil War, married on 14 Oct 1839 in Warren County to Martha Spurling b. 1820, GA. I'm reasonably confident that Eli and your Thomas Raley were 1st cousins, but exactly how is vague. Thomas's father, the best I can determine, was James Raley(Raleigh) b. abt 1788 d. after 1870. My Eli's parents are unknown for certain, but thought to possibly be Henry Raley, b. abt 1765 and Rutha Raley, b. abt 1784 (although it's possible that Rutha could be Henry's daughter). Until recently I had assumed that all of the early Warren County Raley's were offspring of Henry Raleigh (as spelled in the 1820 Census) until I discovered that a James Raley/Raleigh lived in Warren County until his death around 1805. This James and Henry were likely borthers, lived next to each other and were seen together on at l!
east one property deed transaction.

I have attempted to put together a Raley/Raleigh Family Tree and published it on the web at:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wdorough/raley.htm

Unfortunatley, the webpage at this point, is highly speculative. My discovery about James (the elder), is causing me to redo the page in an effort to recoginze that some of the early Warren/Glascock County Raley's could be children of either James or Henry's and not just Henry's alone as I and other's have initially thought.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
