STEVENS / LEWIS / ROSS --Rock Mills/Roanoke, Randolph Co., Alabama,
The STEVENS in that area during 1800's and early 1900s were:
Wilkins W., 1802-1873 & Henrietta H., 1825-1901
of their 7 children--one of their sons:
George W., 1859-1923 married Cora L. [-?-], 1859-1945
and their children--four daughters & one son*:
(1) Adelle, 1886-1950 [married name ROSS --seeking information];
(2) Ucal P., 1887-1952 [married name LEWIS--seeking information];
(3) Laura E., 1890- -?- [she is missing --seeking information];
(4) Leola-? d.15 mos. [gravesite still unknown];
(5)*Merle Carey 1895- -?- [married Margaret COLSON (DULA) in NY City
about 1925/27 and he disappeared in SC
about 1933/34 --seeking information].
NOTE: All but Laura E. and Merle C. are buried in Roanoke/Rock Mills.
*Of particular interest of research is MERLE CAREY STEVENS and/or
his family and descendants. Some members of the STEVENS family had
lived in Enid, OKLAHAMA-- I cannot find anything to substantiate this.
Any further information of record--death, marriage, or otherwise
of any STEVENS/LEWIS/ROSS would be greatly appreciated.
