Subject: Talledega Camp Of Instruction - John Richard Hatfield

Looking for some assistance, please. I am looking for information on John
Richard Hatfield b 1827 in Georgia and married Charity Schofield (Schofill)
on 11 December 1849 in Crawford County, Georgia. They had moved to the
Western District of Talapoosa County between 1856-1859, and they are on the
1860 Census for Talapoosa.
John Richard Hatfield went to a Camp of Instruction in Talledga County and
family tradition states he died in the Civil War. His wife, Charity died
soon after and the children were taken back to her family in Crawford Co.
Georgia.
Can anyone do a search for me of Talapoosa County men joining and see if
they find any mention of John Richard Hatfield dying in battle or due to
illness. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
For those with Georgia roots, I have a home page, please stop by for a
visit. It is still under construction, and I will be adding more
information as it comes to light.
Thank you,
Gaila Merrington
