I am in need of family info on Confederate Maj. John Taylor Smith, born 1828 in Randolph County, Alabama. He served with the 13th Alabama Infantry Reg't. I believe he is the John Smith, age 22, working for Giles Duberry household 847-847, page 751, Louina P.O. John was 25 when he was killed in action at Chancellorsville, VA about May 3, 1863, placing his age in 1860 at "22".
I would greatly appreciate a lookup for him on the 1850 census of Randolph County. I've seen a photo of him that is in possession of the Museum of the Confederacy and he could pass as my father's twin brother! I feel he is definitely related. I believe he did marry about late 60 or early 61. Did he have any children?
Thanks,
Will Smith
