The families are all very much intermarried. I've found Rapalje's married
into virtually every one of the families of the time, in multiple
generations, both in NJ and when the Rappleye's finally settled in the area
of Tompkins County NY.

That's not too surprising, considering that there wasn't as much travel
then, and also that families tended to move to new places in groups related
either by blood or common origin.

The will naming Gerardus and Antje's children came from the Abstracts of
Wills, Vol XV, 1796-1800 (for the state of NY). I have also seen the will
of his mother Johanna, in which Gerardus is named as her son, in Vol XIV,
1786-1796. Also the will of Johanna's husband Gerardus (which names his
wife Johanna) in Vol. V, 1754-1760.

There is also a history of the Duyckinck family, which I don't currently
have but which I had made some notes from, that gives the names of spouses
and children all the way back to the first Evert.
