Hello,
First of all I would try to obtain his death
certificate which you can do by contacting The
Department of Health, Division of Vital
Statistics, N.E. 10th and Stonewall, Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma 73105. Call them and verify current
address and costs. They have records from 1908.
Hopefully, you may be able to get parents names
and his birthplace and date. The history of
Oklahoma is quite different than the history of
many other states. It became a state in 1907. It
was Indian land until 22 April 1889 and was not
opened to white settlers until then, therefore the
typical census schedules available in other states
is not available in Oklahoma. Undoubtedly your
ancestor came there when that state was opened up
for white settlers. :o)
