Pat, Have you tried the census in McMinn Co. Tn?
It seems most of them had sons named James but there is a Jeremiah Reed
with a wife named Francis (Fanny) Hafley Reed and they did have a son with a
name
of James. You might check there. Also in Nashville Archives there is a book
with
the Bibles copied and placed in one book that might help you tremendously, It
did
us.
Jeremiah had two wives and two sets of children but they stayed with him, I
do not know what happened to the first wife but you can figure out when they
married and
know by that which children were of the first wife and who was the second
wife.
