In the spirit of sharing, here is my Reed info, although I doubt that there
will be many who can connect to my Reed family. Hope I am mistaken.
David Reed, purchased land in Belmont County, Ohio, in 1803-05. His wife
was Anna Dyson, daughter of Zephaniah Dyson, she was born in Ohio County,
Virginia; One of their (David and Anna)7 children was my gr. gr.
grandfather, Samuel Reed, who married Susannah Amerine in Union County,
Ohio. Samuel and Susannah later moved to Daviess County, Missouri, where my
close Reed ancestors were born. My grandparents and my father moved to
Kiowa County, S. E. Colorado, where I was born and raised.

Lynn: That was not nice. I have done lookups on "The Reed Genealogy",
descendants of William Reade of Weymouth, Massachusetts from 1635 to 1902.
Scott
Hi Scott,
Give us some credit. David isn't selling it, he is generously sharing it.
We could all benefit from sharing, don't you think?
What would you like to share?

My g-grandfather, Andrew Jackson Reed, was one of the first settlers of
Steamboat Rock, IA. He met and married my grandmother there in 1859.
They had
the following children who were raised in Hardin Co; Charles W. b. 1860, Eva
b.
?, my grandfather, Grant Andrew, b. 1865, John D. b, ?, Kate Agnes, b. 1870,
&
Chester T., b ?
My g-grandfather had a brother, Benjamin F. Reed who also resided in Hardin
Co., Iowa with his own family.
According to writing by my aunt, grandfather, Grant Andrew. had 3 brothers
and 2 sisters. However, he was the only one of his brothers interested in
farming. Charles Reed had already moved to Woodbine, IA, (owned a drug
store)
and told him that land was cheaper in Harrison Co. So in 1903 he bought
some
land north of Woodbine. In 1904 he moved with his wife and 1yr. old
daughter
to the new farm.
In a 1922 Atlas of Harrison Co. with the following: in Lincoln Township:
G.A.
REED, wife Alma; children: Clifford, Louis, Alice and Helen, Woodbine, Iowa;
owns 40 acres, sect 34; owns 160 acres, sect 35.
Where were your husband's Iowa Reeds located?
Alma
