Hi Norma and Ray,
I have noticed that you have a Coffey from Lisnacunna and I wonder if the following could connect to you.
My g,g grandfather John Coffey (b. abt 1805)was from County Cork. He married Ellen McCarthy. They had a daughter Ellen who was born in 1829. Ellen immigrated to Australia in 1856. John was a teacher. looking at the Griffiths Valuation for some form of Parish commonality where Coffey and McCarthy exist. This only appeared in three Parish locations, Deserserges t/l of Lisnacunna, Clondulane t/l of Clondulane South and Ballyfoyle in the townland of Ballinvologe.
Would any of the above be familiar to you.
Thanks,
John...Sydney
