To become a transcriber you follow these steps.
1. Go to theis address:
http://www.usgenweb.net/census/index.htm
2. Click on state selection that will take you to the states that we are
doing.
3. Click on the state that you are interested in doing, which brings you to
the years
just browse around and see what is available. You do not have to do the
state you
live in. You may do any that you want to.
4. After you decide what state, year, and county that you want to do then go
to this
address : http://www.skpub.com/genie/ click 1800-1850 books to see if
they
have a book published on your county.
5. Go back to http://www.usgenweb.net/census/index.htm then click on sin up
area
fill out the form. If they have a book on your county be sure to mention
this in the form
You just type : I am interest in using the SK publications book.
6. Then you are all done . The coordinator for that state will contact you and
get you set
up with the template that you will need.
Nothing can be easier than that
If you run into problems or have questions you can contact me and I will try to
help.
