Re: Gardiner Reynolds and Elizabeth Davis

Please see page 298 of the Reynolds Family Association Centennial
Collection (1992). Here we are told not so much about Gardner/ Gardiner
reynolds parents, but that He was a Revolutionary War Pensioner, and
that his pension was paid to his wife Elizabeth (W24748, BLW
28515-160-55). That he was indeed born in 1759 and lived in Exeter & N.
Kingston (Washington ?township?), rhode Island. that he died 29 April
1821 in N. Kingston. He married 23 April 1786 in North Kingston to
Elizabeth Davis, daughter of Benjamin Davis of North Kingston. On
October 8 1838 Elizabeth was living in North Kingston, and was stated to
be 68 years of age. She is recorded as still being there in May of
1855, and died 28 December 1855.

On p. 490, which is in the section under James of Kingston it reports a
John Reynolds born about 1721 in North Kingston, whose line was a John
1., Joseph 2., Samuel 3., his father; reveals that his will dated in
July 2, 1802, reveals a grandson Gardner Reynolds. i don't know if this
is the same family, but I sure would check with the National Archives on
their Revolutionary War records, to see if this is the same family.

Also I would look up the 3 volume set by Steve Roth on the James of
Kingston line, which will be more complete than what I have cited
above. I believe that Hutchinsons is selling this book, or it can be
found by searching the RFA web site. www.narnet.com/rfa/index.html

Happy hunting,

Glenn G. Reynolds
