Was Riche French perhaps?

Our line was Reich(German immigrants from the Palatine 30 years war area.
Many of the residents had come from other nations as the original Paletine
people had been killed out. Swiss, Dutch, Austrian etc.

Reich was also changed to Rich after about 1800 after the rev war.
