Hello Simon,
I am new as well, and also interested in pre-1900 Richmond's.
I have very little and vague information re: my Richmond family ancestors,
all that I am reasonably sure of is that my great grandmother was Helen
Richmond who bore a daughter with an Irishman whose name I don't know.
Helen was a black woman and rumor has it that she was not married to this
man. I also know that Margaret, the daughter of Helen and the Irisman, was
born in Pittsburg, PA., in 1912 or 1914. I also have information from a
relatives bible which says that Helen died in 1947. Oh by the way, Helen
would have gotten her Richmond name from the Irishman. I don't know the
County of Warwickshire, or the vicinities you speak of but they sound very
European. I will look to my atlas later today.
Regards..............Carol Jordan
