OK - I failed to notice that! Same source, be it correct or pure
fantasy.

NO WAY!!! Current surname Richmond.... grrrr

Just because a grandmother or great grandmother was the Richmond
doesn't mean I'm less Richmond. Those still with the surname are just
as diluted from all the people they married.

Yes, it's a huge project! That's why I think it would take 10-15 years
without several dedicated searchers.

OK - I see your tongue has already been bitten. :)

You mean Third Cousins! Not first cousins.

Well the updating would take some time and searching and a bit of
money. I've never done it, but I think you can buy unlimited time for
online searching of phone books, vital records, etc. And it would
require quite a few phone calls. But, thanks to technology they are
getting cheaper and cheaper.

Maybe the best bet would be to get a game plan together. Get a number
of volunteers to divide up the JBR book to bring it up to date. Or a
couple of us could do all the work, I suppose, if our phone
bills/internet search charges are subsidized by a common financial
pool. The time should be volunteer of course, but I mean the out of
pocket expenses. Too bad I didn't put aside money for this idea before
I lost most of it in Global Crossing and Enron! Anyway I wasn't
thinking genealogy at that time.

So I think we can update the JBR book to the 15,000 or more?
descendants living today. But it definitely will take some time. But
not an impossible goal.
