Not to confuse your Scottish Richmond with my American Richmond family, but, Lucretia Richmond, born in Massachusetts around 1818 married a lawyer, by the last name of Ely and they lived in Lockport until the late 1800's.

Subject: [RICHMOND] Andrew RICHMOND, d1845-50 Lockport NY

Andrew is my GGG Grandfather who was born in Scotland abt
807-1810. He moved his family to Lockport some time before
845. My family has had a presence here in Lockport, New York since
hat time. Andrew is as far back as I can get right now.
There was another RICHMOND family in Lockport around this time and
ater. This other RICHMOND family was a "prominent" one. A Mayor, a
ichmond Manufacturing Company, Richmond Avenue. You get the
dea. According to newspaper reports and obits, this family was from
cotland also.
I would be interested to find out if these lines are connected
ometime back in Scotland. I would like to find a male RICHMOND that
as descended from this line that would be willing to take part in
he Richmond DNA Project.
Any information on these families would be very much appreciated.
Sincerely,
eff Richmond
