many researchers have attempted to connect old Theodoty
to Zachariah Rhodes the emigrant at Providence to no avail.
the following may shed some light on why !

Grave stone record at Westerly,RI
Here lies the body of John Rhodes Esq. earlier
of Newport b. 1671 who d. Mar 3,1746 ae 75
Grandson of Sir Godrey Rhodes of Yorkshire,Eng.

would have been nicer if the flip side of the stone
had his father mentioned. can anyone add to this
family at Westerly formerly of Newport.
Justice Theodoty could well have been his brother.
they had almost the same age.
