Thanks. I'll pull it up again and try to do better!

Hi Kay,
I assume you are referring to the census images viewed with the sid viewer.
When I view them, I use detail mode, and view full screen, then when the
page opens, all you have to do is click on the screen where you want to zoom
in, usually near the names at the top of the left column, and then once the
image is close enough, switch to the hand tool. The tools are located on a
tool bar just above the image to the left of the screen. The hand tool
allows you to click on the screen and 'grab' the page and move it around as
you need. If you zoom in too close, just choose the magnifying glass with
the minus sign and click on the screen.

When you are ready to print the images, right click and choose print entire
image, or print current scene. I find if I place the information that I am
interested in so that it fills the screen and then do both current and
entire image, this works the best for transcribing it later. The current
scene will be enlarged enough to decipher those funny spellings and
difficult ages. Then I also save the image as a SID image, you have to
chose this as the file type, as I think jpg or gif is the default file type.
This allows you to later go in and move the page around in the same fashion
without having to go back online and search for the image at ancestry.
Hope this helps, Lottie
