I want to personally thank you for posting the vital records of Old
Smithfield. My father grew up in Smithfield and though his father was from
Providence, his mother's family had lived in Smithfield for eight
generations. Her father is Frank P. Harris and her grandparents Elisha Smith
Harris and Martha Phetteplace. They lived in the house known as the
Steere-Harris House on Pleasant View Avenue. The last Harris to live there
was her first cousin. Though the names and dates of her ancestors are well
known to us, it has been wonderful to see their names come up in the vital
records. So thanks again for your efforts.
